How to read your electricity bill

The electricity bill contents are set out by law. It states that the bill must contain a summary detailing the volume of electric energy and sums charged for it, electricity distribution and sums charged for it, the total of electric energy and distribution, and electricity and value added taxes.

The electricity bill contains a lot of information. That is why we develop it continuously, to make your electricity bill as clear as possible.

Your bill always has the summary page as the front page. It shows the most important data on your bill:

  • the period covered by the bill
  • whether the bill is an estimate or based on a reading
  • itemisation into electric energy, electricity distribution and value added tax.
