When you are moving to a new home, please contact your electricity retailer and sign an electricity contract for your new address. Your network service agreement for the new address will be arranged at the same time, as all moving-related agreements are handled together with the electricity retailer. You do not need to contact your distribution system operator separately. The information is transferred via the retailer, so one contact is sufficient.
If you are moving to or from the Kymenlaakso Sähköverkko network area, it is enough to contact your electricity retailer. We will receive information about your move through the retailer, and your network service agreement will start or end accordingly. You will receive a confirmation.
The network service agreement covers electricity transmission, 24/7 monitoring of the electricity network, fault repair, and customer service. We will invoice you for electricity transmission. The invoice includes a fixed basic charge and a usage-based fee according to your electricity consumption, as well as electricity taxes, which we remit to the state.
If you are buying a detached house or a holiday home equipped with grid-connected solar panels, you will also need a contract with your electricity retailer for purchasing surplus electricity. After that, you will receive a production network service agreement from us.
In a property transaction, the electricity connection does not automatically transfer to the new owner. It is advisable to mention the transfer of the connection agreement in the deed of sale or to prepare a separate transfer document. Please inform the network operator’s customer service of the transfer well in advance so that a new connection agreement can be made with the new owner. The new owner will receive the agreement for the electricity connection for electronic signature once the change of ownership has been processed. When moving into a terraced house or an apartment building, no transfer of the electricity connection is required.
If electricity is no longer needed at the property or the building is demolished, the connection agreement must be terminated. This is handled through our customer service.
