Instructions on purchasing and commissioning generating equipment

Building or planning permission

Check and obtain the necessary permissions with the planning office of your local authority.

Contact connection sales at Kymenlaakson Sähköverkko

We can provide advice and guidance on commissioning your generation equipment. If required, our experts also provide advice on technical issues.

Ask for written quotations on supply and installation of generation equipment

Include the general information form on microgeneration with your quotation request. This will ensure that your equipment can be connected to the electricity network.

Installing the equipment

Make sure that the electrical contractor who carried out the installation sends the general information form (connections) to our connection sales. After that, we can give permission for the equipment to be commissioned. Ask the contractor for advice and instructions on how the equipment operates and its use.

Make a contract on exporting the production to the electricity network

When we have given permission for the equipment to be connected, we will make a generation export contract with you. We will also replace the meter in your metering point with a two-way metering unit. This will permit separate metering of both electricity taken from the network and that fed into it. There is no separate charge for changing the meter.

Make a sale contract for generated electricity

You can sell the electricity you produce to any electricity vendor. Contact the vendor of your choice and make a contract. Kymenlaakson Sähköverkko will pass on your production details to the vendor of your choice.

Get to know our Online service

You can monitor the electricity volume exported to the network down to the hour in our Online service.
